About Us
Meet our Staff
Juanelle Winsor, the Founder and Director of Science, Etc. has a B.S.
in Elementary Education from Hardin-Simmons University. Her greatest
motivation is helping children to develop God's character into their
lives as they discover His character through His magnificent creation.
Mrs. Winsor has designed a positive environment in her 20+ years
experience in teaching home-educated students that encourages a
lifetime love of learning, and the development of their creative
abilities through songs, games, hands- on projects and experiments.
Juanelle appears in Who's Who Among American Colleges and Universities
and developed curriculum and the video of the High Impact Ministry.
I have been blessed to have my children at Science, Etc. for the
last twelve years. They have been taught by the most incredible,
loving,
nurturing teachers, with the highest of standards. Because of this they
have flourished academically and socially with like-minded children. I
began volunteering soon after my children started classes here. This
will be my eleventh year helping families enroll their children in our
class offerings, keeping track of scheduling & bookkeeping, passing out hugs, fixing problems and boo-boos. I
love sharing with families what this school has meant to my family
academically, spiritually and through fellowship with the many friends
we have made here. My goal is to help you enroll your children in
classes that fit the needs of your family. I look forward to meeting
you soon.
I have been working with students in Drawing classes for over 10 years. I teach
from kindergartners, to high schoolers looking to build a portfolio for
college.
I studied art at East Texas State University and Watercolor under Charles
McGough. I have painted murals in homes and churches all over the metroplex.
I have illustrated one manual and am currently working on illustrating a
childrens’ book. I enjoy creating all forms of art and hope I can pass on my
love of art and enthusiasm for visual arts to the students.

Scarlett Joya Spanish... Elementary through High School
I was born and raised in Honduras, Central America. When I
finished my high school education I was given the opportunity to
continue my studies in Europe. After spending seven years between
England, Switzerland and Spain I went back to Honduras with my degree.
After teaching for five years in a Christian school I found how
much I enjoyed teaching and spending time with children. The Lord
has moved us to North Texas with the opportunity to teach my beautiful
language to the children of Science, Etc. for the last five years.
I have been married for over 20 years and I'm the mother of two
young men, Alejandro and Leonardo.
Barbara Klein Director, Lambs and
Shepherds Montessori
Barbara Klein has been educating young children using the Montessori
method since 1979. She received her certification from the National
Center for Montessori Education (primary training ages 3-6) in 1980.
Over the course of 23 years she has taught in Houston, San Antonio, and
on two occasions directed her own program. She has been married to
husband Keith, and practiced and honed her Montessori methods on her
own four children, ages 6-24!
Barbara's purpose in directing the Lambs and
Shepherds Montessori School is to honor the Lord utilizing her
gifts of teaching and to provide an environment that is most conducive
for 3-5 year olds to develop in the way God created them. She is also
passionate about providing resources and training for parents to create
a home atmosphere where child-directed learning can flourish.
Kerry Lundelius Worldview Studies, and History
Kerry Lundelius earned her B.S. in Nursing from TCU in 1975. But as
far back as she can remember history and worldview ideas have been her
love. After being introduced to Dr. Noebel's Understanding the Times
curriculum in 1991, she received training with the Summit
Ministries staff and began teaching worldview classes to homeschoolers
in 1993. Since that time, she has trained over 400 young people to
think biblically, including her own two daughters who are now grown.
"You can't know where you are going if you don't know where you've
been." Mrs. Lundelius believes that to truly understand history,
a worldview approach built upon biblical judgement, spiritual wisdoms
and moral beliefs is essential. It is from history that we are
taught lessons which help the Christian thinker to discern and analyze
our times, lives, and responses.
Kerry has been active in politics since she was eleven years old,
so teaching American Government and Economics is a logical
outgrowth of her activism and history studies. Kerry currently serves
on the board of directors of the Pregnancy Help Center.
Judy Mason has been an artist beginning in the 1970's. Her studies
include McMurry and Hardin-Simmons Universities. She continued yearly 2-
week art workshops as an assistant teaching adults in a Continuing Ed
program at Louisana Tech University for eleven consegative years.
Included were extensive drawing trips to foreign countries as an
assistant for adult groups. She says."Teaching children is most
rewarding because of their creative spirit."
She has taught children at Science, Etc., Parker County Christian Home
Educaters, Upstairs Gallery, Firehouse Gallery, and Imagination Celebration
Program. Exhibitions have included Arlington Museum of Art, Community
Art Center, Center for Contemporary Art in Abilene, Ft. Worth Woman's
Club Art, Women of Worth Shows, and an exhibition in Italy.
"My goal has been to strengthen the creative side which is our
problem-solving side through creative art."
Kelly Pryor Elem. Math, Reading, Grammar and High School Government & Economics
I received my B.S. Degree in Education at Georgia College and State
University, with minors in Math and Language Arts. I also received my
Elementary and Secondary Certification through Accredited Christian School
International. I was married this summer, to my wonderful husband and best
friend, Danny. I felt God's calling to children's ministries, at the age of
10. While in high school and college, I became very active in children's
missions and served on various mission trips. After graduation, I continued
children's missions, tutored, and worked as an Autistic Therapist. When I
moved to Texas, to be near my family, I began teaching at a Christian school.
After several years of teaching, I went back to children's ministries, as a
children's pastor and director. Through all of these experiences, I was able
to see how many children were suffering from low self-esteems and failure.
God kept pulling me toward counseling and teaching children the importance of
developing their identity in Christ. Once children began realizing this, they
began to flourish. Through the wonderful example of my parents, I knew the
importance of home-education. I began teaching children from my home, which
lead me to Science Etc. I am thrilled that God has blessed me with the
opportunity to teach at Science Etc. While teaching children in academics,
my prayer is children will truly believe and be confident of who they are in
Christ.
Melinda Spray graduated with her BM in piano pedagogy in May 2009 from Texas

Music Teachers Association, and Pi Kappa Lambda. She has experience teaching
both group and private lessons, and she enjoys teaching students of all ages.
Melinda wants to share her love for music with her students at Science, Etc.
Kathy Walston Classical Literature and Writing
Kathy Walston has a degree in English with a minor in Comparative Literature.
Literature is her passion but she enjoys all forms of communication,
written and spoken. She has taught
in both formal, private school settings and in home school coops and
enrichment programs. She sees Science, Etc. as a wonderful place for
children to grow in knowledge and their love of learning while honoring
the Lord. She has a wonderful husband, three grown children and four (and counting!) grandchildren.
With a B.F.A. from the University of Texas at Arlington, Mary Alice White
has always had a love for all of the arts. In amazement of God's
creativity and that He shares this awesome gift with every human being, her
teaching endeavors to encourage students to express their passions through
drawing with foundational skills, different tools, various techniques, and
fun. She has homeschooled her two sons who are now furthering their
educations at UNT in Denton.
Karen Wilson Latin, Writing and Logic
Karen Wilson received a B.S. in Plant and Soil Science from the
University of Tennesse in 1978. She worked for 5 years at Lockheed as a
software engineer before her daughter was born and for 5 years after
her daughter finished high school. She home-schooled her daughter
through all twelve grades and taught Latin for 4 years at the high
school level to homeschoolers. She has taught Sunday school from
preschoolers to adults and was involved for many years in leadership in
Bible Study Fellowship. She has a strong love of learning and is very
excited to have the opportunity to teach at Science, Etc. and to pass
this love on to your children.
