From a young age I knew that I wanted to be a mathematics teacher. In an effort to achieve that goal, I earned a BS in Mathematics from University of California, Riverside, a Teaching Credential from San Diego State University, and a Masters in Educational Counseling from National University. Ultimately I began teaching in 1988, and taught in public schools for over 20 years. As a military wife for 30 years, I relocated quite a bit and substitute taught and privately tutored students in between my permanent positions. Through our years in the military, my husband and I lived in California, Hawaii, Louisiana, Virginia, Maryland, and now Texas. I have had opportunities to teach all levels of math including Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Geometry, Pre-Calculus, and AP Statistics. I tutor all math subjects including Calculus and homeschooled programs such as Saxon, Teaching Textbooks, Math U See, and Time 4 Learning. I also have tutor for SAT review.
My husband Jack and I met at the beginning of his Navy career, and 30 years later “we” are retired from the military, and are starting a new life in Texas. He is employed at Lockheed Martin, and I have been working in the home, privately tutoring, and providing intervention support for my local middle school. We have two amazing daughters; Lauren who is a senior at Centennial High School, and Nicole who freshman. After school they have me running between soccer fields and dance studios.
I thoroughly enjoyed my first year at Science Etc., and look forward to even
better year this year.
