Kate Houghton is a Fort Worth native and a graduate of Texas Christian University with a degree in Middle School English, Language, and Arts. She has taught for over 10 years, both in the private and public sector. For 3 years she even ran a school in her home, while juggling being a mom to three littles (under 3 years old). Passionate about adoption and foster care (which is how her family has grown), as well as being an educator, she has made teaching children about the Lord her life’s mission. There hasn’t been a day she didn’t dream about working with kids. As a struggling reader early on, she feels drawn to help every student find their joy in learning. She understand that for many it can be a challenge, but feels that homeschooling really allowed for her to grow and eventually excel leading her to become an educator herself.
Every child is capable of pursuing excellence, it’s our job as educators to open every door and window to allow for that opportunity to drift in. We need to place that kindling to ignite their own passion for learning! Kate hopes that she can walk alongside both the parent and student as they are stretched and transformed in their education journey.
