Lori Bruns

Lori and her husband, Steve, have been married since 2000.  They have two children - a daughter and a son. Lori holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from the University of Texas at Arlington with a minor in French.  She holds a CPA license and has worked in accounting for various large companies, prior to becoming a mom.  

In what feels like another lifetime ago, she set out to learn fundamentals of Spanish just six months before leaving to live with a family in Ecuador as a volunteer and English teacher. The background in French proved useful in learning enough to be self-sufficient in a short amount of time. It is that immersion experience that propelled her love of the Latin American culture. Now, she has forgotten most of the French she ever knew.  In her teacher training in Ecuador, it was instilled in her to give the students a “reason to learn.” Along with her naturally organized manner, it will be her goal to pull movement and creativity into the classroom to make learning fun.

She has been homeschooling her daughter since 2020, and this is Lillian’s second year at Science, Etc.  In her free time, she loves to entertain, craft, enjoy nature, and see all God’s beautiful sunsets that are possible while spending time with her family. She hopes teaching at Science, Etc gives her more reasons to continue her study of the Spanish language.
