Bobbye West

Bobbye West
Teacher

Bobbye West received her Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science at the University of Texas at Dallas and has studied under Howard Gardner and others as part of the Harvard Graduate School of Education’s Project Zero. She has worked as an educator for 15 years in Texas, wearing many hats ranging from classroom teacher to curriculum writing and instructional coaching and even school administration. Bobbye lives with her husband Josh, daughter Nora, and their beloved Cavapoo, Sandy in Fort Worth.  She currently offers two American History courses to students ages 9-11 encompassing all of United States History from pre-Columbian times to the present.  Bobbye has thoughtfully curated each of these courses to complement each other while providing a beautiful arts and literature-based introduction to our nation's history.  She prioritizes exploring the full American experience with all of its diverse voices, cultures, art, music, and literature.  It is her hope that these introductory courses prepare students not just for future history courses but for a future as thoughtful, engaged citizens.  When she is not teaching, Bobbye can be found baking, collecting books, or traveling.  She fosters a community for homeschoolers and chronicles her family's adventures at bobbyewest.com.
