After earning her Bachelors of Arts in Mathematics with a specialty in Computer Science from the University of Texas in Austin, Brandi McCarthy worked at Lockheed Martin Aeronautics as a software engineer on the F-16 for almost a decade. After "retiring" to be a stay-at-home wife & mom, she has homeschooled her three kids for the last 13 years, and they have been part of the Science, Etc. family for the last 10. Mrs. McCarthy serves on staff as the Study Hall & Lunchroom monitor, as well as substitutes for a variety of classes (Math, Art, Spanish, etc), and assists with any office work as needed. Science, Etc. has been a very special place for her whole family, and it's extra fun now that her mom, Kathryn Estry, teaches here too!

Since 2003, Mrs. McCarthy has been an active Pastor's Wife at Christ Chapel Bible Church... volunteering with everything from College Ministry to Women's Mentoring, from Children's Ministry to Young Adults. She loves serving as a Coordinator of KidsCamp every summer and has a heart for overseas Missions.

Mrs. McCarthy's favorite pastimes involve the beauty of the outdoors, her Bible, worship music, puzzling, art, and lots of styles of dance! After growing up dancing, she is beyond thrilled to continue in Ballet & Lyrical (alongside her daughter) at a studio that honors God through dance ~ Rejoice Dance Studio. She has also had the privilege of performing in musicals and numerous dance performances over the last decade.  

And she's super excited to be graduating her oldest son very soon!!
